We are now into our final day of the Wings giveaway competition! So, I thought I’d do a fun post for you 🙂 As ever, sharing and commenting will count as points toward the amount of chapters I’ll unlock! Thanks!
Now, today this post is going to be something a little different! I thought that a fun way to give you some more insight into the characters and setting of Wings, the paranormal YA novel I’m working on, I’d share some of the songs** that inspired me.
Ready? Let’s go!
ARMY OF ANGELS-THE SCRIPT
First off, we have a sweet song that I think really shows the relationship between not only Noel and Eli (cuz these two are adorable, I cannot wait for you to properly meet them)…but the entire team. A group of teens who don’t seem to fit in anywhere, but have an army of angels at their backs.
This song is so Noel. From the strong, vibrant tempo to the sassy and honest lyrics. Noel has never fit in, but somehow that’s the last thing she cares about. From her perspective, “So what if I’m an outcast?”
WHO YOU ARE-UNSPOKEN
Jude has never been one to take the easy way out. At least, not when it comes to defying the dark nature that has always helped him get what he wants. Yet, deep down, he has to wonder if there is a way to change who he is. To reach for that freedom he wants so badly…
Ever since she was a child, Taryn has always been told who to be. What she’s worth. And their harsh words have sliced away at the hope deep inside. However, even after everything she’s become, the young woman still believes that there is someone out there who sees her as lovable. And is willing to fight for that chance.
Even though the world has tried time and time again to knock him down, somehow Eli still manages to get back on his feet. Clinging to a hope that tomorrow can only be better than today, he is the first of his group to shrug off the shackles of darkness and turn toward the light. Undefeated.
And one last song that is just too much fun not to include…
(HEROES) WE COULD BE-ALESSO
“Everyday people do everyday things, but I can’t be one of them. I know you hear me now, we are a different kind, we could do anything…we could be heroes.”
I hope you enjoyed listening to these as much as I enjoyed compiling them!
Some of these songs are not by Christian artists, and they came to my attention just through pursuing youtube and some friends’ suggestions. That does not mean that I’ve heard any of their other music, and that I’m saying every song is as great as the ones I’ve listed. I merely searched for clean songs that fit the characters.
